内容摘要：
This presentation will focus on cultural differences between east and west in terms of psychology and morality. It will begin with a description of an approach to moral development by Lawrence Kohlberg which outlines six stages from immature to mature moral reasoning. Kohlberg proposes that his approach is universal. I will test that claim by reviewing research on the psychology of morality in two other cultures: India and China. The research suggests that while there is some similarity across cultures, there are radical differences. The presentation will explore reasons for these differences and draw out implications for psychotherapy.
